Description
About Our Dressmaking Course 101
Our Dressmaking Course 101 covers how to draft your bodice / torso block using your body measurements along with a proportion chart to help you achieve a great foundation draft. At Pattern Academy, we recognise the challenges that not having accurate and proportionate measurements can pose for those new to pattern drafting. Hence we have provided a Size and Proportion Chart to help you with your daft.
Another unique feature of the method taught in this course is that the provision for bust dart intake is calculated based on cup size. So, it is not a one cap fits all approach as used in many pattern making books or commercial patterns.
Above all, the steps in our Dressmaking Course 101 are also broken down into bite size steps, to make it easy for you to follow along the drafting process and draft your own bodice / torso blocks.
What does the Dressmaking Course 101 offer?
In this Dressmaking Course 101 you will learn how to take measurements needed for drafting the bodice /torso block.
You will then go on to draft the front and back bodice/torso block patterns professionally using the measurements obtained along with the corresponding proportions on the chart.
This lesson includes how to calculate for your front shoulder dart, your underarm proportion, bust arc and bust span, among other skills you will learn along the way.
